REFRIGERATORS

What is a Total No Frost fridge or freezer?

Total No Frost banishes ice from the fridge and freezer by blowing chilled air around both to reduce the humidity. Food packaging doesn't stick together, food labeling stays clearly legible and storage space isn't wasted by ice buildup. Defrosting is never, or almost never necessary.

There are different levels of energy consumption. Which one is the best choice?

5 Star Energy Rating offer the lowest energy consumption. This is better for the environment and for your wallet.

How can I get rid of unpleasant odors in my refrigerator?

Clean the inside with a mild cleaning detergent.

How much free space should I leave open around a refrigerator?

For freestanding refrigerators you should leave 5 cm on top and 10 cm behind the appliance. This will allow heat to be dispatched easily and reduces energy consumption. Forbuilt-in appliances the space needed is included in the specifications.

What is the best way to clean my refrigerator?/td>

Clean both the refrigerator and freezer compartments about once a month to prevent odours from building up. Wipe up spills immediately. Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power. Remove all removable parts from inside, such as shelves, crispers, etc. Hand wash, rinse, and dry removable parts and interior surfaces thoroughly, using a clean sponge or soft cloth and mild detergent in warm water. Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners such as window sprays, scouring cleansers, flammable fluids, cleaning waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches or cleansers containing petroleum products on plastic parts interior and door liners or gaskets. Do not use paper towels, scouring pads, or other harsh cleaning tools. These can scratch or damage materials. To help remove odors, you can wash interior walls with a mixture of warm water and baking soda (2 tbs. to 1 qt (26 g to .95 L) of water). Wash stainless steel and painted metal exteriors with a clean sponge or soft cloth and mild detergent in warm water. Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners. Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. For additional protection against damage to painted metal exteriors, apply appliance wax with a clean, soft cloth. Do not wax plastic parts.

What should the temperatures be inside my refrigerator and freezer?

A temperature of 3 to 4°C on average is preferred, with upper and lower limits of 0 to 7°C. At 7°C food will deteriorate more quickly.

Is moisture in the Vegetable Drawer normal?

Yes. As the water in the vegetables evaporates, it strikes the cold surface of the refrigerator, hence resulting in formation of water droplets. The humid air over the vegetables is however swept away by the dynamic airflow inside the refrigerator, keeping your vegetables fresh.

Why do I hear a noise from the back of the refrigerator?

The refrigerator is kept cold inside with the help of cooling coil, fan motor which is inside the product and the compressor which is fitted at the bottom rear side of the refrigerator. During the operation of the fridge it is normal to hear a humming noise.

There is water in the bottom of the self-defrosting refrigerator

The drain tube from the gully at the back of the fridge is blocked. Defrosted water is flowing into the cabinet.

The temperature inside the appliance is too cold/warm

The optimum normal air temperatures in the centre of cabinets should be as follows; Refrigerator +3.5°C Chiller 0°C Freezer *** -18°C Freezer * -6°C Freezer ** -12°C Freezer **** -24°C (Using Fast Freeze switch. Not a normal running temperature.)

AIR CONDITIONERS

How Whirlpool’s 3D cool technology works?

Whirlpool’s 3D Cool Technology with its unique 3 dimensional vent system sucks out hot air and provides fastest temperature pull down. Other ACs in the market have single vent and therefore are not so efficient in cooling the room so fast.

What are the advantages of the 3D cool technology?

FAST POWERFUL COOLING
Fast Powerful Cooling as the hot air gets sucked out faster through its unique 3 dimensional air vent.
MORE ENERGY SAVINGS
More energy savings as the compressor working time gets reduced on account of AC reaching set temperature in very less time, in comparison to single vent ACs.

How fast is the temperature pull down?

Significant temperature difference with in 5 min, It cools your World in 5 minutes...faster than any other Air Conditioner.

How is this 3D Cool AC energy efficient due to this technology?

Faster cooling in lesser time and therefore short duration of compressor ON condition results in better power saving.

Why 3 Dimensional hot air suction help in fastest temperature pull down?

The amount of hot Air sucking with 3 vents inlet is more from the room as compared to only single vent inlet. This helps in fastest temperature pull down for room.
The room cooling is a result of heat exchange happening through evaporator. In 3D Cool Technology large quantity of hot air is flows in the evaporator through the active intake system of 3 vents. Hence, the faster heat exchange and temperature pull down as a result.

How does the Dual Fan Compressor technology works?

Dual Fan Compressor technology boosts the performance of the compressor by keeping it cool. So, even under extreme hot conditions of 55 deg C, the compressor does not trip and cools efficiently. It also provide perfect cooling during low voltage drop of up to 195V at high ambient.

What are the benefits of this technology?

  • Fastest room Cooling
  • Cools even at 55 Deg C high ambient conditions
  • Cools perfectly even during low voltage conditions at 55 deg C

How is this Smarter than inverter AC?

  • Whirlpool Dual Fan AC provides faster pull down than an Inverter AC
  • Whirlpool Dual Fan ACs are designed for 55 Deg C whereas Inverter AC is not.(Perfect for hot Indian conditions)
  • Whirlpool Dual Fan AC Works perfectly even during low voltage (up to 195V) conditions at 55 deg C whereas Inverter AC will not be able to perform under same conditions.
  • Whirlpool Dual Fan ACs are 5 Star rated, certified by Bureau of Energy Efficiency. Inverter ACs don’t have any Star rating, and they are not certified by Bureau of Energy Efficiency
  • The PCB replacement cost of Whirlpool Dual Fan AC is lower whereas the PCB replacement cost is significantly higher for Inverter AC. Also, the ODU PCB of an Inverter AC is not proven for hot Indian weather conditions.
  • Initial cost of ownership of a Whirlpool Dual Fan 5 Star Rated AC is low compared to an Inverter AC

When the temperature hardly cross 50 deg C in most part of India, why should I require a Whirlpool Dual Fan AC with 55 deg C performance?

During Peak summer conditions when the ambient goes to 48~50 deg C, Compressor chamber temperature reaches 53~55 inside the ODU respectively. This results in the compressor tripping issue at that condition. Hence, a Whirlpool Dual fan AC works even @55 deg C to give uninterrupted cooling.

What is the story of this low voltage condition (up to 195 V @ 55 deg C). How is it relevant when most of the AC’s works with Stabilizer?

During peak summer conditions, there is always a voltage drop and even stabilizer will not able to give a constant supply of 230V which is must for compressor operation during high ambient temperature. With dual Fan compressor technology, Whirlpool AC works perfectly even during low voltage (up to 195V) conditions at 55 deg C(which an Inverter AC cannot)

WASHERS

How much detergent do I need for each load?

This depends on the hardness of your water and the soil in your clothing. Softened water requires quite a bit less detergent than hard water yet the more soiled the clothes, the more detergent you need to clean them. See the instructions on the detergent package for specific guidelines. If soap suds remain at the end of the cycle, you are probably using too much detergent.

When is a pre-wash program necessary?

Only when your laundry is very dirty.

What causes those fuzzy balls on some clothing?

Many synthetic clothes shed small fibers that ball up and cling to the clothes. Remove these "pills," if you like, with a fuzz-removing device that is available from many department stores. Overloading your can make this condition worse.

Why do some clothing dealers suggest washing clothes inside out?

Turning clothes inside out doesn't affect the wash performance, but can help to prolong the life of your garments, especially coloured garments or those with a special finish or logo. It can also help prevent fluff balls forming on woollen garments.

DISHWASHERS

How much detergent should I use in my dishwasher?

The amount of detergent to use depends on the hardness of your water and the type of detergent. If you use too little, dishes may not be perfectly clean. If you use too much in soft water, glassware could be scratched or damaged. If you do not know your water hardness, contact your local water department. Check recommendations on the dishwasher packet.

Is it better to use 4-in-1 products than separate detergent, salt and rinse agent?

Using separate detergent, salt and rinse agent allows you to adjust the mix to the type of water in your area and the amount of dishes you have to clean. 4 in 1 or combined products offer convenience benefits.

Why can't I use ordinary cooking salt in my dish washer?

Cooking salt contains ingredients that could damage your dishwasher.

When do I need to add rinse aid to the dispenser?

The LED indicator will light when rinse aid is necessary. Rinse aid will help the drying process and also prevent glassware looking cloddy.

Is it necessary to use a rinse agent in my dishwasher?

We recommend using the rinse agent dispenser. Rinse aid is essential for good drying. Be sure to fill the dispenser before you use your new dishwasher.

WATER PURIFIERS

How effective is Reverse Osmosis filtration compared to other methods?

Reverse osmosis, also known as hyper filtration, is the finest means of filtration available today. RO is the most convenient and effective method of water filtration. Reverse Osmosis refers to the process of forcing water through a semi-permeable membrane under pressure, which is rated at 0.0001 micron (equals to 0.00000004 inch!) this is the technology used to make bottled water. Non RO water filters are much less effective, and the pore size on these filter media are much bigger. They can filter out coarse particles, sediments and elements only up to their micron rating. Anything finer and most dissolved substances cannot be filtered out. As a result, water is far less clean and less safer compared to Reverse Osmosis filtration.

How does Reverse Osmosis work?

Reverse Osmosis uses a membrane that is semi-permeable, allowing water to pass through it, while rejecting the contaminants that are too large to pass through the tiny pores in the membrane. Reverse Osmosis, or RO is the opposite of the natural process by which moisture is taken up by living cell. Root cells of plants, for example, have special cell walls the allow water to pass through them. In Reverse Osmosis, water is forced against a membrane that is semi-permeable, allowing water to pass through it, while rejecting the contaminants that are too large to pass through the tiny pores in the membrane. Impurities are left behind and are rinsed away to a waste drain.

What does TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) mean?

Water which begins its natural cycle as rain, comes into contact with many sources of contamination before eventually finding its way to your tap. The various minerals (including heavy metal ions) and salts that have been dissolved by the water during this cycle are called Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). TDS meter measures the PPM (parts per million) value of inorganic dissolved substances in the water.
